    The Carpet Removal Process
Full carpet removal can be a tricky process, let us handle the headache!
Our process for removing carpet is fairly simple. Carpet is held in place by small planks of wood studded with nails known as tack strips. These pieces of wood can be reused when laying down new carpet if that’s your plan. We will pull the carpet free from the tack strip connected to the wall. Once the carpet is free from the tack strip, we will begin pulling up the carpet. As we progress the carpet will be cut into smaller pieces to be disposed of. If you’re not reusing the tack strips to lay down a new carpet, we will remove those as well. Oftentimes glue residue will remain on your foundation or walls. We will use our specialized tools to remove all remaining glue to ease the installation of your new flooring system.

    FAQS
Have questions about our carpet removal services?
Do you have questions about having your old carpet removed? Here are a few commonly asked questions we hear from customers. If you have any additional questions, give our flooring removal specialists a call!
How much does it cost to remove commercial carpet?
The price to remove commercial carpeting can vary depending on the size of the space being it’s being removed from. Including labor time and the cost of disposal, it is usually a minimum of $1 per square foot to remove the commercial carpet. But the price can decrease to $0.85 per square foot if you’re removing more than 1000 square feet of carpeting.
How much does residential carpet removal cost?
Removing carpet from your home is a reasonably cost-effective start to a remodel project. Most contractors charge $1 to $1.50 per square foot to remove carpet from a 12 by 12-foot room and properly dispose of it either by scrapping it or recycling it. This price can change depending on the size and state of your carpeted floors.
Can both carpeting and padding be recycled?
We strive to keep our projects and business environmentally friendly, therefore, we typically recycle as much debris and removed carpeting as possible. Both carpet and the padding underneath can be recycled, though the methods are different. For this reason, we roll padding and carpeting separately. Your recycled carpeting can be used at some point in the future as carpet backing, padding or even carpet fiber.
    Can carpet be donated?
Although that thought is full of good intentions. Even if your carpeting is in the most exemplary condition, the vast majority of charitable organizations will refuse it due to potential health risks from mold spores, fleas, pet stains, and other allergens. For that reason, we will properly dispose of all removed carpeting and padding through the proper recycling centers.
